| 1970's | Neighbors Against Grime (NAG) was formed by a group of concerned homeowners as a support group for neighbors interested in maintaining clean, healthy and strong community. Ms. Matilda Koval and Ms. Janet Hill were instrumental in spearheading the formation of NAG. |
| 1985 | The McElderry Park Community Association, Inc. was formed to encourage and foster greater cooperation and support from the greater community surrounding the NAG group. McElderry Park encompassed residents, businesses and other organizations within the boundaries of the Association, which ran from Fayette Street to Monument Street and from Patterson Park Avenue to Linwood Avenue. The role of the McElderry Park Community Association was to continue to develop the objectives established by NAG. |
| 2001 | The McElderry Park Community Association gains 501-(c)3 status and is registered as a non-profit community organization. |
| 2004 | The McElderry Park Community Association implements a reorganization plan as part of a continuing effort to meet its current objectives and in preparation of future opportunities being presented to the community. |
